![]() It works a little more like a driving game, although there are still problems since you really need the devs to use a smarter system for driving (a toggle to lock the camera to the mount would do wonders) instead of just cobbling it together. Left stick turns the camera and RT/LT do forward/backward, with right stick having move left/right. Back+dpad hard-switches to a new control layout we're working on just for beetle driving. Back+LB toggles action cam (we always play in action cam, of course). Back has a couple more control things. We mainly use trackballs for menu/dialog/inventory control rather than controller-based mousing, but you can definitely do it. ![]() Sticks also switch to mouse control here, triggers are clicks, etc. Face and shoulder buttons have PvP, Party, Guild, Trading/Gemstore, Mail, and Scoreboard strewn across them. Dpad Up=>map, Left=>hero panel, Right=>inventory, Down=>chat toggle. Dpad Up,Left,Right,Down have the four mounts plus some special hold-links to the others (don't have a griffon or warclaw yet, so can't play with those). Dpad Up,Left,Right,Down and Back are F1-F5. Dpad has a few basic targeting commands (call, take, nearest enemy, next enemy). RB is highlight names/targets/interactables (super handy here). B is dodge (double-tap to dodge is disabled). OK, so there are a lot of abilities and we are the kind of people who need to play with every class and every toy, so yeah, you can do elementalist or engineer (who actually needs more controls than elementalist, with F5). Has a free edition, though there are many restrictions and it's definitely got a lot of F2P going with inconveniences you buy your way around and pricey cosmetics. Works pretty great, though, and that's a lot of game. My partner and I enjoy playing Guild Wars 2 on controller, but that takes a 3rd party controller program (or Steam's mappable controller support) and some time to set up. ![]() Oh, and in the "incredibly simple but truly great fun" category, One Finger Death Punch also goes to $1 in sales. Rocket League hasn't exactly plummeted in price, but is still great value. Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Core Fighters is free for a few characters and has a great tag survival mode. Grid 2 was free recently on Humble, and is also fun. If you got The Crew during one of its various free times, it's fun once you get the handling controls straightened out. Trials: Fusion can basically be played forever due to vast seas of high-quality user content easily accessible from right in-game. Yar's Revenge and Outland still drop to $1 on sales, which is ridiculous. Neon Chrome and Jydge have been over bundled and discounted for what good games they are. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend is a fantastic fighter and hits exceedingly low prices given how much game you get from it (sequels Chronophantasma and Centralfiction also go pretty low but have various good and bad points). Waves 2 is not as cheap, but still criminally underpriced. Waves usually hits $1 in sale times and is a fantastic twin-stick shooter. With a controller, you have tons of options. Also keyboard-capable games like Tales of Maj'Eyal, which is dirt cheap (or just use the free version which has basically no real downsides), runs well, and needs little to no mousing. Gets rid of a lot of trackpad issues while keeping a lot of mouse advantages, and can be used anywhere.Īs far as games, anything management/empire-ish or turn-based should be fine on trackpad.
